In 2014 I opened CrossFit Artax as a way for me to train full time with my goal to qualify for the CrossFit Games. I was a young kid with a hunger to be a world class athlete competing at the highest level.
I opened CrossFit Artax in 2014 as a way for me to train full-time as an athlete and qualify for the CrossFit Games.
After my fourth appearance at the Regionals, I started to feel like I was on the wrong path and I didn’t feel like I was reaching my full potential as a person. So I decided to take a year off competition and reflect on what my goals actually were.
During my year off, I realise that I had a bigger purpose in life than trying to qualify for the CrossFit Games, I found that my bigger purpose is to make a positive impact on people‘s lives in the form of fitness and friendships.
As a way to keep myself accountable to my vision, I decided to get a tattoo on my arm to make sure that I stay on track and achieve this goal.
The tattoos on my arm represent the number of active members inside of my facilities, that which I am making a positive impact on daily.
Each number represents a milestone in my vision. 1000, 2500, 5000 & 10,000 being my end goal. Each time a milestone has been achieved, I will get it crossed out.
This tattoo represents more than self-accountability.
It provides motivation for my team and commitment to each and every one of my members
“Artax is more than just a gym, it’s a place where fitness and friendships combine”
